Q1.What if I cannot use a credit card? Can I be invoiced and pay by cheque or BACS?
If you are a school, a health authority or a UK resident (delivery to UK address) you can have an invoice in GB£ sent with the goods. Payment must be by cheque or bank transfer for the full invoice amount in GB£. Cheques should be made payable to Therapy Box Ltd.
Q2. I was wondering whether Therapy Box Ltd could invoice in Australian dollars (or any other currency)?
All Therapy Box prices are quoted in £GB, we only invoice & accept payment in GB£.
Q3. When I get to the checkout VAT is shown, but I live outside the EU. How can I get rid of it?
If you are not liable to pay VAT because of where you live , VAT will disappear when you select your country of residence.
See below, Currency & VAT, for Demo.
Q9. Can I get a 30 day trial or a rental of Proloquo2Go, Predictable or Scene&Heard?
Apple does not currently support time-limited trials or rentals for iPhone applications so we cannot provide a 30 day trial. Rental of the software and a device would be a lot of hassle and probably save you very little money. If you compare those costs to most other advanced AAC solutions you will understand that rental does not make much sense in this case.
Q11. Should I get an iPhone or iPod touch for Proloquo2Go?
It all depends on your needs. The iPod touch has a faster processor and is cheaper. The iPhone has built-in camera allowing you to take pictures from inside Proloquo2Go and can also be used as a phone.
Q12. Do I need an external speaker for Proloquo2Go?
Yes, you should get an external speaker, because unless you are in a very quiet room people will not understand what you are saying with Proloquo2Go. We recommend the imaingo2 speaker. For more information about this speaker see : http://www.imaingo.com/ for more information.
Q13. When I install Proloquo2Go can I still use my device for other things?
Proloquo2Go needs only about 300 MB of space on your iPhone or iPod so there will be ample of space left for your music, videos, mail and other applications.
Q14. What languages and voices does Proloquo2Go support?
Proloquo2Go uses Acapela Group’s state-of-the-art Text-to-Speech voices. The current version includes North American English male, female, girl and boy voices. In late 2009 users will be able to swap to voices of other languages, initially British, later also other languages.
Q15. Can I use my own photos with Proloquo2Go?
Yes. The iPhone has built-in camera allowing you to take pictures from inside Proloquo2Go. With the iPod touch you first need to take pictures with a digital camera, synchronize those to your computer and then using iTunes synchonize your computer image library with your iPod. When you create a new item or edit an existing item you can choose a picture from your photo library (iPod and iPhone) or take a picture (iPhone only). See the manual for details.
Q16. What does Proloquo2Go use? Pictures or words?
Proloquo2Go’s default setting is to use picture symbols from SymbolStix, the symbols created and made popular by News-2-You. Yet you can also use other pictures such as digital images from your collection or opt to have a text only system. Optionally, with the iPhone you can take photos from right inside Proloquo2Go and add them to an item.
Q17. Can I create my own vocabulary set with Proloquo2Go?
Certainly. AssistiveWare have tried to make it easy to rapidly develop new items, categories, or a completely new set. See the manual for more information on creating items and categories.
Q18. Can I re-arrange the order of the items on Proloquo2Go?
Normally all items are shown in alphabetical order, this is to make the order be predictable when new items are added. As it is very easy to add new items we felt it was important to have a predictable order. AssistiveWare are working on allowing you to re-order items manually and you can already do this in the Edit Mode when in List View, but as the feature is not yet completed and not available yet in Grid View we consider this currently an unsupported feature.
Q19. Can I program Proloquo2Go on my computer?
Not currently, but it is really easy to program it right on the device. AssistiveWare are exploring options for computer-based programming for a future version.
Q20. How do I make backups of Proloquo2Go?
Every time you sync your device with iTunes a backup will be created by iTunes. If you want to restore the data (your programming) you need to restore your device to the last backup. You can also do manual backups with iTunes. AssistiveWare have useful Instructions for restoring Proloquo2Go with iTunes.
Q21. Do you have a Proloquo2Go vocabulary map available?
AssistiveWare have a Proloquo2Go top-level Vocabulary Map available for download.
Q22. What if I delete Proloquo2Go, Predictable and Scene&Heard from my iPhone or iPod touch?
As long as you have backed up Proloquo2Go in iTunes (which happens each time you sync your device with iTunes), you can simply restore the application. If you also want to restore the data (your programming) you need to restore your device to the last backup (backups are made everytime you sync on iTunes).
